Location: Tripoli with regular movements in West of Libya

Position: Field supervisor

Type of contract: Employment Full term – 3 months contract renewable (until November).

Strating date: ASAP – June 2021

Monthly gross salary range: To be defined according to the candidate’s profile

GVC in Libya

Sectors of Intervention: 

GVC has been operating in Libya since 2018 through the implementation of the following intervention sectors:

  • Humanitarian Aid for host, displaced, migrant and refugee populations through projects promoting access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), primary health, etc.
  • Capacity building of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs)
  • Promoting respect for Human Rights, in connection with the field of humanitarian protection

Location: 

GVC has been working in Tripoli since 2018. The organization starting new programs in the West of Tripoli and the South of Libya

Job description

The field supervisor will work closely with the M&E officer, the engineer, the Community Protection Awareness (CPA) Officer and the local implementing partner. S/he will be directly supervised by the Health Manager. S/he will coordinate the need assessment of the target health and educational facilities supervise and contribute to capacity building trainings, follow up rehabilitation and equipment distribution in project target locations. S/he will supervise 

 

the work of the implementing partner in the targeted facilities. At last, s/he will facilitate the implementation of the community awareness.

Main tasks and responsibilities 

  • Conduct field assessment and follow up visits in the targeted locations
  • Liaise with local stakeholders for coordination of project activities
  • Conduct regular and ongoing monitoring and reporting on rehabilitation activities, capacity building and community awareness
  • Ensure efficient utilization and full accountability for the project resources 
  • Support the M&E officer in the implementation and regular collection of the Sources of Verifications
  • Conduct staff and community trainings and other capacity building initiatives.
  • Coordinate the field implementation of the awareness campaign in the community in close collaboration with the CPA officer.
  • Prepare district work-plan and progress reports as defined by the project guidelines
  • Facilitate the implementation of appropriate training needs local communities and implementing partner
  • Conduct and contribute to regular coordination meetings
  • Participate in any other job related activities assigned by superiors

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Knowledge

  • Computer literate – Basic MS Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project.
  • Arabic native speaker.
  • Proficient knowledge of spoken and written and English.
  • High Diploma or University degree.

Professional experience

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience.

Personal skills

  • Good time-management and organizational skills.
  • Team player.
  • Good interpersonal skills including ability to gain trust, build relationships and promote team spirit.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of beneficiaries at all times.
