Première Urgence Internationale (PUI) is a non-governmental, non-profit, non-political and non-religious international aid organization. Our teams are committed to supporting civilians’ victims of marginalization and exclusion, or hit by natural disasters, wars and economic collapses, by answering their fundamental needs. Our aim is to provide emergency relief to uprooted people in order to help them recover their dignity and regain self-sufficiency.

 

 

The association leads, on average, 190 projects each year in the following sectors of intervention: food security, health, nutrition, construction and rehabilitation of infrastructures, water, sanitation, hygiene and economic recovery. PUI is providing assistance to around 5 million people in 21 countries – in Africa, Asia, Middle East, Eastern Europe and France.

 

PUI is launching a health intervention in Benghazi which aims to improve access to quality healthcare for populations affected by the ongoing conflict in Benghazi and its surroundings.

 

 

 

 

Job Description
Overall objective
 

Under the supervision of the Logistics Supply Officer, the Purchaser contributes to all logistic activities linked to supply at base level in compliance with PUI procedures and donors’ guidelines.

The purchaser will be working from Benghazi, but mainly dedicated to provide the required support to the Logistic Dept in AL Kufra.

 

 

Tasks and Responsibilities
4   Supply of all items required by the authorized staff of the base, in compliance with PUI procurement and storage procedures

4   Capitalization of all documents related to the procurement

4   Ensure a good documentation follow-up and archiving

 

Specific Goals and Related Activities
1.         Procurement

4   To supply all items required by the authorized staff of the base, in compliance with PUI procurement procedures

4   To be in direct collaboration with the suppliers regarding quotation, negotiation, purchase, delivery of goods and services.

4   Ensure that relationships with suppliers are monitored

4   To provide feedbacks and guidance to the Logistics Supply Officer regarding suppliers and prices.

4   To fill documentation related to the purchases following PUI procedures and guidelines.

4   To establish the totality of the documents composing a purchase file

4   Contribute to apply and respect the donors’ and PUI’s procurement procedures

4   To collaborate with admin department regarding payment of suppliers

4   To update the procurement and contract follow-up

4   To capitalize on the supply work done through markets studies, editing of catalogs, and other tools if necessary.

 

 

2.         Documentation, and Reporting

4   Ensure a good documentation follow-up and archiving

4   Ensure a regular communication with the Logistics Supply Officer

4   Update the purchase follow-up

4   Update the contract follow-up table

4   To do a weekly follow-up report of the files

 

In General, the Employee has to remain flexible and to perform other duties as required for the good running of the mission.

NB: This job description may be subject to modifications in the future, depending on the evolution of the activities. These modifications will then be defined and discussed between the Employee and PUI
