Position: Peer Educator
Report to: Center Manager Duty station: Sabha |
Key responsibilities:
S/he will be responsible, under the supervision of the center manager, for assisting and supporting the Social worker during the implementation of Educational and protection activities.
Responsibilities/duties:
- Under the supervision of the center manager, s/he will work collaboratively with the social workers for the implementation of the planned Educational activities (NFE), psychosocial support activities (PSS), and life skill sessions (LS).
- facilitate student learning by helping to clarify specific course content
- Conducts one-on-one, small group and/or Drop-in tutoring sessions
- Conducts classroom announcements.
- Provide resources that are available for students who need additional assistance.
- Follow the set mechanism in referring suspected BNFs to the case management unit.
- S/he will perform any other tasks requested by the center Manager and/or by the Supervisor in the framework of the activities foreseen by the INTERSOS program in Libya.
Other responsibilities:
- Uphold the INTERSOS Code of Conduct and policies;
- Ensure the respect of the core humanitarian principles: neutrality, impartiality, independence and humanity and the respect of the “do no harm” principle of humanitarian action.
- Strictly follow the internal procedures and guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
Study background
- high school diploma
Experience
- Have at least 1-year experience in teaching or facilitating adult learning
Soft skills
- Flexibility, adaptability, and ability to work in a fast paced and stressful work environment
Communication skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Languages
- English, Arabic: Mandatory.
- French is a welcomed addition.
