Job Description
Overall purpose of the role:
Under the line management of CDC manager and in close collaboration with the Protection and disability monitoring officer (PDMO), Disability outreach worker will respond to the following responsibilities:
- Assessment and identification of needs (20%)
- Distribution of AMDs (50%)
- Mapping of services (20%)
- Referrals (10%)
Assessment and identification of needs
- Reception of referral list from the PDMO of the potential people with physical impairment received through RAIS
- Conduct a disability screening assessment on spot for cases present in the CDC of which referred from the PDMO through RAIS
- Conduct a home visit to review the overall POC situation for cases who can’t be in the CDC for the screening.
- Generate a list of potential cases in need for Assistive medical devices and send it through the PDMO to the disability specialist.
- Upon agreement with the PDMO on the date of technical rehab assessment, Call the potential cases for appointments for assessment with the disability specialist
- Agree with the disability specialist for cases in need for his/her support for home-based rehab technical assessment; conduct the visit jointly with the specialist when needed or alone if not applicable.
- Join the disability specialist in his technical assessment and devices donation / recommendations and seek always for learning opportunities.
Distribution of AMDs
- Conduct home visits for cases who has limitation to access to the CDC to receive the assistive medical device, do the needed donation and collect donation certificates.
- Conduct home visits to deliver items that were prescribed by the disability specialist at the rehab technical assessment stage of which the device was not available or needed some modifications
- Liaise with the PDMO to inform the log team for the needs of devices to be transported and donated at home base level
- In the absence of the disability specialist, join the CB, CP or GBV teams for cases that show signs of physical disability and provide the needed recommendation, assessment or provision of devices on spot as per the need; always refer to the disability specialist for further consultation
- Conduct stand alone visits to cases referred by the CB team or other units to assess the needs and follow up on the next steps
- Provide training for the POC on the best practices to best benefit from the devices and reduce the risks of injury
- Guide the caregiver when relevant on tips for preventing complications and supporting the POC when needed.
Mapping of services
- Keep a direct contact with the CB and CM team to record the data in relation to the service providers for physical rehabilitation services
- Conduct visits to the identified service providers to collect information on the modality of intervention, targeted population, fees and others and update the data of the service mapping
- Write meeting minutes when relevant and update the PM for significant field outcomes
- Seek for approvals prior to the plan for visits from the CDC manager and the log/security team
Referrals
- Refer cases to the different units as per the identified needs
- Refer the cases of people in need for physical rehabilitation to rehab actors
- Track progress of the case when relevant and flag any significant risk

Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in physical therapy or occupational therapy
- Fresh graduates or 1 year of relevant experience in physical rehabilitation sector
- Excellent Arabic and good English is mandatory
- Very good communication skills
- Very good computer skills (Word, excel as minimum)
- Former experience in working or volunteering with community-based organizations or INGOs is a plus.
