Job Overview
Key responsibilities:
S/he will be responsible, under the supervision of the center manager, for planning, designing, reporting, referral and participation in conducting all Life skills activities for children.
Responsibilities/duties:
- Respond to the changing needs of young people /adults and provide creative solutions to unplanned events.
- responsible for the production and review of plans, ensuring that all plans are outcome focused and fully align with the young people.
- Identify Vulnerable children and adults in need of support and conduct referrals to the Case management team.
- responsible for promoting the participants of young people in events, education training and employment activities, especially in opportunities provided by UNICEF.
- Ensure the Availability, maintenance and utilization of life skills guide.
- responsible for collecting the views of young people with regard to the services offered and delivered to youths.
- Provide supervision, mentorship and Guidance to Peer educators and social workers.
- contribute to the development /revision of materials already developed.
- assist and supporting the young people in implementing youth led initiatives.
- S/he will perform any other tasks requested by the Project Manager and/or by the Supervisor in the framework of the activities foreseen by INTERSOS program in Libya.
Other responsibilities:
- Uphold the INTERSOS Code of Conduct and policies;
- Ensure the respect of the core humanitarian principles: neutrality, impartiality, independence and humanity and the respect of the “do no harm” principle of humanitarian action.
- Strictly follow the internal procedures and guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs);
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in computer science, education, or any related field;
- Ideally at least 2 years of professional experience as a teacher;
- Extensive field experience working with children with different ages;
- Proven experience in dealing with community members, local leaders and other stakeholders;
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage efficiently multiple priorities, deadlines and tasks with attention to details;
- Ability to communicate effectively with variety of people, and express oneself in a clear and concise way;
- Strong communication and reporting skills;
- Excellent Arabic spoken and written language skills. Ability to communicate and write in English is mandatory;
- Good command of MS Office package would be an asset;
- Excellent team working skills and ability to work in a multicultural environment and under pressure is Necessary;
- Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills;
- Ability to work under high pressure;
- Capable to attend the work in the Center and to travel around in case of Outreach activities
