Job Description

We are looking for a Head of Structural Design to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading & overseeing the team of structural engineers in undertaking structural designs of residential, commercial and industrial projects of the company.

Key responsibilites

Lead and oversee the structural design team & ensure that the design is in accordance with the codes & regulations of the industry.
Ensure that the team completes its tasks on schedule
Undertakes structural design & mentors junior design engineers.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other design team members to develop efficient and cost-effective structural designs.
Ensure that structural designs comply with applicable building codes, regulations, and safety standards.
Review and integrate structural drawings with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems.
Manage the structural design process from concept through final design stages, including design reviews, modifications, and approval.
Ensure timely submission of structural designs to meet project schedules and milestones.
Oversee the use of design software (e.g., Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, STAAD Pro, etc.) to develop accurate structural drawings and models.
Provide technical guidance and support to the design team and project stakeholders on structural issues.
Assist in solving complex design challenges by offering practical and innovative solutions.
Conduct structural analysis and calculations to verify the adequacy of proposed designs.
Review and approve structural drawings and design calculations for quality, accuracy, and compliance with project requirements.
Coordinate internal and external design reviews and implement necessary changes or improvements.
Attend project meetings to discuss progress, resolve issues, and ensure smooth coordination between the structural design team and other project stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Bachelor or master degree in Civil Engineering
Master in Structural Engineering is preferred
Minimum 10 years experience as structural design engineer of residential, commercial and industrial projects and other civil structures.
Familiarity with the ASCE 7-22, ACI 318-19, and other structural design codes .
Proficient in the use of the software used in the structural design such as Robot Analysis & Design, ETABS, SAFE, STAADPro, RCDC, RAM Connect, REVIT, etc.
Comprehensive knowledge & understanding of the international & local codes in structural engineering.
Able to produce a comprehensive and detailed working drawings for structural plans, details, calculations, for residential, commercial & industrial projects and other civil structures.
