OBJECTIVES OF JOB
The Electrical Supervisor is responsible for performing electrical installation, maintenance and repairs to production, processing and utility facilities and equipment. He must further promote the safe operation of Electrical activities, assist the Electrical/Instrumentation Superintendent in the coordination of contract work and actively promote a team environment amongst the international work-force that is in place. |
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Perform Electrical work in accordance with good oilfield practice, actively promoting a safe working environment
2. Hands-on Supervision of contract staff,
3. Work with the Electrical/Instrumentation Superintendent in the coordination of all electrical maintenance activities
4. Conduct an ongoing review of Electrical Workshop practice, suggesting improvements for the optimization of same.
5. Demonstrate ability to oversee/perform electrical jobs, from inception through to full final completion, including mark up of as built drawings. Will perform work on systems from 34.5kv to 230vac utility works.
6. Perform electrical isolations on 34.5kv, to 480volt systems. Work with permit to work system, and isolation permit system presently in place.
7. Perform/provide hands-on training with computerized preventative maintenance system and tasks presently in place. Assist in the optimization of the CMMS, making recommendations for improvement as related to electrical preventative maintenance works.
8. To work flexible hours, in times of plant upsets, plant shutdown workovers, or special projects.
9. Demonstrate through actions, ability to work as a team member, openly share information, document activities and findings in logbooks, able to step outside the box and assist others however required and possible.
10. Ensure as built drawings are updated as changes are found or made.

Qualifications/Experience:
- Certified Electrical Technologist, or certified Electrician, with over 8 years’ experience working with medium & Low voltage systems, (34.5kv and lower), as related to an operations facility.
- Experience and certification in medium voltage switching, isolations, maintenance and troubleshooting with switchgear, and transformers are a must. SF6 switchgear experience would be considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of computers is a must. To work with the CMMS, email, and report work, as required with the job.
- Experience working the variable frequency-controlled motor installations would also be considered an asset.
- Experience working with, and providing training to national staff, would be considered an asset.
- Must have demonstrated experience with maintenance in an operating plant; able to work with minimal supervision, ensuring jobs are fully completed, able and willing to approach all electrical jobs, and come with safe and efficient way to approach all jobs, go the extra step to find information, collect data, etc. Willingness to carry jobs as far as possible, exercising all avenues to complete all tasks safely and fully, on all electrical systems, with in a producing oil and gas plant, associated field equipment, office installations, to camp utility systems.
- Must be able to get driving papers, for driving within Libya, and therefore must meet certain restrictions within the country to drive legally.
- Poses a valid International recognized Drivers License.
