Job Description

The project “Enhancing the resilience of vulnerable girls and boys in West Libya through access to quality education and Psycho Social Support services”, funded by UNICEF, intends to promote a favorable protection environment for girls and boys affected by the crisis in Western Libya through protection monitoring, provision of psychosocial assistance, child protection services and safe learning environment.

Project areas of intervention:
Accessible IDPs communities in Tripoli and Zwara
Accesible host communities in Tripoli and Zwara
Accessible mixed migrants communities Tripoli and Zwara
Cesvi Baity Center Tripoli and Zwara

Team Leader Education- Objective:
Under the supervision of the Education Supervisor and in coordination with the Field Coordinator will support the implementation and the running of NFE project activities in Cesvi Baity Center and MOE schools.

Safeguarding Policies

Cesvi has zero tolerance approach to any form of abuse and sexual exploitation as well as bullying and a range of non-sexual abuse of power perpetrated by Cesvi employee and related personnel against any individual (children and adults) regardless of age, gender, sexuality, disability, religion or ethnic origin.
Cesvi takes all the complaints and concerns about violence against children and SEA seriously and it initiates rigorous investigation of complaints indicating a possible violation of safeguarding policies as well as of Cesvi Code of Conduct and of Cesvi Ethical Code.

Specific tasks and responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of Cesvi Education Supervisor – Supervise and monitor the implementation of the educational activities in Cesvi Baity Centre, conducting regular visits to the project site(s) (provided security situation will allow it);
  • Manage and monitor the admission of non-Libyan pupils in public education institutions.
  • Accompany and support the HHs in the production of documents and certificates necessary for the pupils’ enrollment in public schools.
  • Liaise with the Ministry of Education and Municipalities Education Control Units where the program is implemented
  • Coordinate with other agencies/NGOs/government bodies/donors to ensure coordination and implementation of common standards;
  • Capacity building of teachers and other education personnel;
  • Liaise with school directors and teachers in the IDP camps as well as with the Community base activity Supervisor and Filed Coordinator to create a shared plan for addressing the identified educational needs and introduce the project to the communities and IDP and refugee committees;
  • Provide technical guidance and direction for effective planning, implementation and monitoring to the Education Team; school-in-a-box and teacher guidance will be also given;
  • Organize students groups & schedule for NFE classes for IDP children in Cesvi Baity Center and in the IDP camps;
  • Organize students group & schedule for NFE classes for refugees children in the Baity Centre;
  • Supervise the correct reporting and data entry of education project component;
  • In coordination with the Education Team Leader and the Meal Manager design a baseline/end line system to measure the impact of the intervention and fulfill the relevant information;
  • Represent CESVI in a professional manner in meetings and ensure good cooperation with local partners and other relevant actors;
  • Participate in multidisciplinary teams meetings and trainings regarding, for example, GBV and mental health;
  • Assist in performing other tasks as requested by the line manager/supervisor and supporting the team work;
  • Report on daily and weekly base to Education Supervisor and Field Coordinator;
  • Respect CESVI’s Standard Operating Procedures and Code of Conduct for the Confidentiality and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment.
  • Adhere to Children Safeguarding Policy, PSEA Policy, code of conduct, and report concerns.
  • Raise awareness of the affected communities about the safeguarding system and how to report concerns.
  • Ensure CS measures are implemented within their area of responsibility;
  • Contribute in creating a safeguarding culture within the organization.

Job Requirements

  1. Requirements: Bachelor/Diploma from accredited university in a related field (education, social work);
  2. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position;
  3. Experience in teaching children or implementing recreational activities with children;
  4. Sensitivity to and awareness of the educational and developmental needs of children;
  5. Possession of technical skills such as painting, music e.tc. are considered as an asset;
  6. Cross-cultural awareness and sensitivity;
  7. Good interpersonal and communication skills;
  8. Ability to work in challenging environments and ability to adapt in a changing context are required;
